Caution: Nuclear Family on Board

I hate these decals. I hate all of their variations, and I immediately pass judgment on people in the minivans/SUVs they adorn.

They make me throw up in my mouth.

I'm not really sure what statement people are trying to communicate with these absolutely adorable decals, but it's annoying. For a more in-depth analysis of the stick figure family window decals, go here.

I also hate those monogram decals.

The worst offender, though, has to be the "In Loving Memory" decals. Why, why, why do I need to know that your friend/baby/sibling died too young? "In Loving Memory" decals almost always have the dates of the deceased person's life, which then forces me to do some quick math.

It's sad. Of course it's sad. I'm sorry their loved one died. But why the need to broadcast their grief? It's weird, and it's creepy. And, when people make me do quick math while I'm driving, it's making the roads less safe, which could result in more demand for decals.

Is a picture of Calvin really the best way to honor the memory of name/last name? Really?

Tacky, tacky, tacky. And not even the fun kind of tacky.

  1. Huh, I haven't seen these anywhere. What do they mean? How and why is it creepy?
